In addition, we organize several events, scientific meetings and symposia to not only strengthen basic knowledge, but also explore new topics and stimulate out of the box thinking. Brecht received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the university of Hasselt and his Master in cell biology and physiology at the KU Leuven. After obtaining his master’s degree he started to work at Janssen Pharmaceutica in the department of Janssen diagnostics. Subsequently he moved to the department of Infectious Diseases and Vaccines where he is doing antiviral research on respiratory viruses. Currently he is doing a PhD in a collaboration project between Janssen Pharmaceutica and the University of Antwerp. Additionally, he is also co-chair of the steering committee of the Janssen Benelux PhD and Postdoc community.
Francesca joined Janssen after 2 years of Post-doctoral research at KU Leuven on the development of in-vivo electrophysiology and behavioral research in small animals. Francesca completed MSc Neuropsychobiology from Cagliari University, Italy in 2011 and worked as Research Assistant for 1 year. Thereafter, Francesca completed her PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience from the Durham University, UK in 2017. Her doctoral research was focused on the neuronal firing in the various brain region during social interaction and memory. Francesca is currently working in the Global Safety Pharmacology team within Nonclinical Safety in Beerse. She is also co-chair of the steering committee of the Janssen Benelux PhD and Postdoc community.
