Do you want use your expertise & skills in the field of Process Technology and play a key role in the development of new and improved, sustainable processes and products for Corbion? As Principal Specialist Process Technology you will work for the Global R&D Department in Gorinchem. You will be part of the competence center that is responsible for process design of all Corbion manufacturing processes, shaping the processes of the future and bringing step change improvement to their existing sugar based processes.

As Principal Specialist Process Technology your main responsibilities are:

• Lead the development, optimisation and implementation of new technologies to improve processes;
• Bring the technology challenges of commercial plants into R&D through translating problems to lab-scale trials;
• Develop improved process concepts and guide equipment selection aiming at creating sustainable processes to enable future net-zero operation;
• Scout external developments in the field and translate these into internal or open innovation projects;
• Steer and support the implementation of technology from R&D to pilot plants;
• Support intellectual property, regulatory affairs, marketing and sales departments in process technology related matter;
• Coach junior colleagues in the field of Process Technology.

Profile

We are looking for a candidate with a PDEng or Ph.D. in chemical/process engineering. Additionally, you must have more than 10 years of industrial work experience in the process chemistry field (R&D). Can you bring State of the Art expertise in process development, equipment selection & design?

You need to have:

• Experience with a broad range of unit operations like solid-liquid separations, membrane separations, extraction technology, ion-exchange and drying;
• Experience in (high level) cost evaluation is a plus;
• Willingness to travel;
• Good communication skills and intercultural sensitivity.
