Senior Manager, Security Monitoring & Process Integration (R3039)

Your new role at Genmab

At Genmab, the Manager Security Monitoring (MSM) is a security professional who has a passion for operational security activities and has a broad knowledge and experience in state-of-the art security monitoring solutions, in using Azure Sentinel and has an excellent understanding of security risks, threats and attack vectors. This knowledge and expertise must be combined with a hands-on mentality and capabilities to not only design fit-for-purpose solutions, but also to realize the implementation, the most efficient usage and the continuously improvement of them.

This person will act as Service Delivery Manager towards Genmab’s Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). Furthermore, the manager will define, modify and priorities monitoring use cases, based on a.o. the results of risk assessments, and ensure that required security logging information will be made available to be processed in the SIEM solution. The manger will also support business partners and projects to define a monitoring strategy and to realize security monitoring needs by identifying relevant information, supplying those to the SIEM software and assisting in the implementation of business rules, triggers, alarms and alike.

In alignment with Genmab’s IT Security & Risk team and the MSSP, the MSM will monitor the efficiency of the implemented security monitoring process and will drive its improvement. The MSM is also responsible for the maintenance of the governance documents, including, but not limited to process and procedure descriptions. Regularly reporting to stakeholders about the status of performance, change requests and improvement activities is another task, the MSM must fulfill.

Furthermore, the MSM will perform tasks in the vulnerability management domain. These tasks include but are not limited to using the vulnerability scanning solution, and other security tools.

Lastly, the MSM will also perform basic security assessments within the Genmab environment and penetration tests when required.

The MSM is part of the Security Operations team which is a key stakeholder in Genmab’s security incident response process. Therefore, the MSM must analyze, investigate, and support the resolution of security incidents reported by the MSSP and others.

The MSM is required to be result driven, to be able to work to a large extend independently, is willing to take acceptable risks but most of all, the MSM must be convinced of the benefits of teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as Service Delivery Manager towards Genmab’s MSSP

  • Ensure that required logging information is available for security event analysis according to defined use cases

  • Define and maintain security standards, processes and procedures and create required process descriptions

  • Determine which – and when - use cases shall be modified, implemented, or removed.

  • Maintain an inventory of used security logging sources

  • Fulfill the role as Security Incident Handler (Tier 2)

  • Perform basic security assessments and penetration testing

What we ask

  • Relevant experience with Microsoft Sentinel

  • Relevant trainings and certifications in Security Monitoring

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience in IT security roles; this can also include operational security functions

  • Working experience in multinational organizations

  • Excellent knowledge of IT security technology combined with an insight in threat actors and attack vectors

  • Experience in working in/for a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred

  • Good communication skills and capable to explain (complex) technical security issues in “normal” language to non-technical stakeholders

  • Very good communication skills in English
