(Senior) Research Associate Cell and Molecular Sciences (r5409)

We are looking for a (Senior) Research Associate to join our Cell & Molecular Science (CMS) department. This team is part of the Antibody Discovery Technologies (ADT) cluster and responsible for the development and implementation of new molecular biology capabilities and processes to facilitate antibody format- and product discovery. As a (Senior) Research Associate in the CMS team, you will work with highly motivated colleagues and collaborate with antibody format discovery, product discovery and research material teams supporting the organization with state-of-the-art molecular biology tools and capabilities. You will focus on the development of novel technologies related to antigen generation, protein expression, immunizations and antibody discovery and you will contribute to the automation of molecular biological techniques using liquid handling systems. The aim of this is to improve our drug discovery and antibody panel generation processes, thereby initiating the development of ground-breaking medicines for cancer patients.
You are experienced and passionate about working with techniques in the field of molecular biology. You are enthusiastic, creative and determined. You have the ambition to further develop your skills in molecular biology and are driven to work with colleagues on the development of new antibody-based cancer medicines.
You support our Technology Innovation research within the ADT cluster with molecular biology techniques.
You closely collaborate with colleagues and will work on the implementation of novel technologies related to antigen generation, protein expression, immunizations and antibody discovery that will improve the development of therapeutic antibody products.
You will contribute to new in-house molecular biology capabilities, such as mRNA-based expression platforms.
Projects you will work on may include: Optimizing/implementing novel immunization strategies; High-throughput single B cell sorting (multi-color flow-cytometric sorting) and cloning; Optimizing molecular biology based high-throughput recovery of antibody sequences to support our antibody panel generation process.
You record scientific results in electronic notebooks, reports and presentations.
BSc/HLO or MSc in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or a related discipline.
Between 0-3 years of experience with working in industry or academia.
Affinity with technology and setting up new technologies.
Broad practical experience with molecular biological techniques such as molecular cloning, PCR and vector design is a must.
Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays is a must.
Knowledge and/or experience in the field of immunization, FACS, B-cell sorting, antibody biology and protein chemistry is an advantage.
Experience or affinity with automation and programming of liquid handling robotics is preferred.
You are goal-oriented and have a can-do mentality.
You have good communicational skills in English, oral and written.
You recognize the importance of working according to a quality system, which includes adhering to procedures and detailed documentation of your work.
You are creative in your way of thinking to contribute to technology innovation.
You enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously and can adapt to a dynamic environment.
