Taking a New Step in Operations

Shortly after graduating, Yorick Janssens joined Legend Biotech and became part of the team expanding the company's manufacturing operations in Ghent. After gaining experience in Operations, he decided he was ready for a new challenge and moved into a role focused on process improvements.

"Once things were running smoothly, I felt ready for something new," says Yorick. "I discussed my ambitions with my manager and found a role that matched my interests while allowing me to continue learning."

His advice for starters? "Don't be afraid to explore new opportunities. Talk to your manager about your ambitions and keep an open mind."

Growing into a Leadership Role in Quality

For Camille Eeckhout, growth meant stepping into a people leadership role. Camille started her career in Quality Control and gradually took on more responsibilities. When the opportunity arose to become a supervisor within the growing manufacturing organisation in Ghent, she decided to take the leap.

"I wanted to be part of the company's growth journey," she explains. "It was a great opportunity to develop myself and support a team."

To support her transition, Camille joined the Legend Manager Program, where new leaders learn from experienced colleagues and further develop their leadership skills.

Her advice? "Take initiative and don't be afraid to challenge yourself. Growth starts outside your comfort zone."

Becoming an Expert in HR

Not every career move means changing departments or becoming a manager. Some colleagues choose to build deeper expertise within their field.

That was the case for Lotte Van Heuverswyn, who joined Legend Biotech as a Payroll Officer and progressed to Senior Payroll Specialist.

"It's incredibly motivating to see that people trust your abilities and give you opportunities to grow," says Lotte. "Keep an eye on internal opportunities and don't limit yourself to your own department."
