Introduction
I am the founder and owner of Clinical Medical Staffing. After more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, I decided to make the switch to be a matchmaker in Life Sciences. We are specialised in jobs within the clinical and medical departments of these companies.
I am responsible for all activities of Clinical Medical Staffing, since it’s my company, that means I am responsible for e.g. Business Development, Recruitment, Human Resources.
I experience a lot of satisfaction helping my customers fill their vacancies and also in helping candidates find the right job. In other words: making the match between candidate, job and company.
If you are looking to be successful in this field you have to have excellent communication and social skills and organisational skills. It is also important that you are emphatic and result oriented and that you have customer focus and commercial interests plus a broad interest in science and people. 

How did you encounter this job?
For my role as Country Manager I was approached by an external party due to my work experience and expertise in this field. What I always liked doing was mentoring and coaching new colleagues. This was one of the triggers to switch to be a matchmaker in Life Sciences. I am passionate in helping candidates find the right job at the right company.

What was challenging for you when you started in this position?
To successfully build the company from scratch, and to achieve the same results as I previously have achieved.

Do you have any tips for career seekers in your field?
If you wish to find a job in a staffing agency for Life Sciences, as a recruiter or as a business developer, it helps you to understand clients (companies and candidates) when you have working experience in their field. More important: do what you like to do, do what you’re good at and do what gives you energy. When you feel good and you have fun in your job, you will automatically perform better.
