Lead R&D projects, ensuring execution, funding, and scientific impact.

Job

  • Lead, coordinate, and carry out the phases of laboratory and/or field studies in accordance with established criteria to ensure their proper development according to quality standards and contribute to research activities.
  • Design methodological proposals for each type of study and collaborate in the drafting and standardization of working procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate the schedule, material resources, and tasks assigned to the team of technicians involved, according to priorities and planning.
  • In relevant activities, ensure and guarantee the quality and integrity of results through control and validation systems, as well as recording, documentation, and computerized systems. Where applicable, conduct studies in accordance with GLP principles.
  • Resolve issues that may arise during the execution of trials and research activities.
  • Review with the Program Head and/or Principal Investigator the status, progress, and needs of the delegated research activities.
  • Prepare reports and manage documentation related to projects for submission to companies or sponsors, as well as Ethics Committees, Biosafety Committees, involved organizations, the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Government of Catalonia, audits, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator in direct communication and in the return of results to companies or sponsors of assigned studies, contributing to customer satisfaction and loyalty to IRTA.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, Business Developers, and the Projects and Contracts Office in the preparation of proposals, projects, and contracts, such as drafting objectives, methodology, or associated cost analysis.
  • Where applicable, collaborate in market scouting to identify new collaboration opportunities.
  • Collaborate in delivering training courses and knowledge transfer events for companies and institutions related to the sector.
  • Develop and train technical staff and students in the techniques to be used.
  • Ensure that protocols are available to Quality Assurance personnel, in GLP environments, with the aim of ensuring that studies are conducted according to defined Good Laboratory Practice requirements.

Profile

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent).
  • Specialized training at Master’s or postgraduate level.
  • PhD degree is an asset.
