About the Role

As an MSAT Scientist within the Analytical Science and Technology (AST) team, you will play a key role in the Recombinant Mammalian Drug Substance (DS) function of the global MSAT organization. This team owns Life Cycle Management of mammalian cell culture-based DS processes across a global biologics manufacturing network.

You will contribute to:

  • Launching new products and supporting commercial manufacturing.
  • Driving innovation through advanced analytics, digital labs, and next-generation processes.
  • Supporting a diverse portfolio including monoclonal and multi-specific antibodies, fusion proteins, ADCs, synthorins, and nanobodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Method Development & Transfer
    • Develop, optimize, execute, and transfer LC-MS methods.
    • Act as subject matter expert for HPLC and mass spectrometry.
    • Own methods end-to-end: development, optimization, execution, data reporting, and documentation.
  • Analytical Expertise
    • Integrate LC-MS characterization data with process and product knowledge.
    • Identify improvements to enhance robustness and reduce cycle time.
    • Support investigations and generate scientific protocols and reports.
  • Cross-Functional Support
    • Provide technical expertise for deviations, process improvements, and late-stage/commercial products.
    • Collaborate with global teams across multiple sites.
  • Innovation & Compliance
    • Contribute to digital lab initiatives and advanced analytics.
    • Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.

Profile

Required Profile

  • Education
    • PhD or Master’s in Life Sciences with mandatory mass spectrometry experience.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years in LC-MS method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
    • Hands-on experience with large molecule LC-MS data interpretation (intact or peptide level).
    • Familiarity with peptide mapping and glycan analysis workflows (preferred).
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong understanding of chromatography and mass spectrometry fundamentals.
    • Knowledge of GMP and biologics manufacturing/testing.
    • Proficiency in data trending and statistical techniques.
  • Soft Skills
    • Quality-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Problem-solving mindset and flexibility to support lab and project work.
  • Language
    • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
