In this role, you will be based at Innosyn office in Geleen (Brightlands Chemelot Campus) and report directly to and work together with the Commercial Director. You stay informed about the latest industry trends and developments, while maintaining close contact with team leaders, scientists, and other departments to keep track of ongoing projects and internal priorities.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Identify new business opportunities and consequently, expand the customer base and business development pipeline;
- Develop activities to build and actively maintain relationship with customers, partners and relevant industrial players;
- Generate and negotiate commercially attractive and competitive proposals based on the requirements of the customers and in full alignment with the internal project responsible team;
- Work closely with scientific and marketing team members to develop client acquisition strategies;
- Provide input to the InnoSyn business plan with respect to future growth opportunities;
- Represent company background and strategy in events, conferences (approx. once per month, mainly in Europe), and business meetings;
- Support customers by providing detailed technological and commercial information;
- Document and maintain customer report visits and relevant correspondence between company and customers in the CRM.
Profile
You have a technical or scientific background in Chemical Engineering, (Bio)Chemistry, Life Sciences, Material Sciences, or a related field. While you not the scientist yourself, you need to speak the scientific language. You understand the chemistry and/or processes that enables you to grasp our services and engage credibly with both clients and internal R&D teams.
Ideally, you have 10-15 years of experience in business development; However, if you have less experience but you bring a strong affinity for sales, a proactive mindset, and the right technical background, we also encourage you to apply.
You are a creative self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset. You bring strong interpersonal skills, a results-driven approach, and a talent for conceptual selling. With excellent communication and negotiation skills, you know how to build trust, convince stakeholders, and close deals.
English is a must, German is a big plus and other foreign languages is a plus.
Willingness to travel (>30%).
