Responsibilities:
- Automated Method Development: Collaborate with laboratory teams to translate manual lab workflows into efficient automated solutions, leveraging extensive experience in designing and programming protocols for robotics and liquid handling workstations (e.g., Tecan robots).
- System Integration and Development: Configure and program robotic systems (e.g., Tecan, Hamilton, Beckman) and integrate scheduling software to optimise automation workflows, based on previous experience in high-throughput screening and drug target discovery.
- Documentation and Validation: Validate automated methods and maintain comprehensive documentation in alignment with internal and regulatory requirements, informed by years of experience in conducting GxP-compliant research.
Profile
The ideal candidate possesses a diverse skill set across three key domains:Laboratory Automation Specialist:
- Skilled in the set-up, use and maintenance of laboratory automation system in pharma/biotech laboratories;
- Has excellent interpersonal skills to interact with automation users.
- Empathetic and knowledgeable in laboratory techniques and workflows within a regulatory environment.
- Capable of conceptualising and implementing data exchange via networking and software tools, ensuring adherence to GCLP/GxP standards.
- Relevant B.Sc. degree complemented by certifications in Good Laboratory Practice and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice;
- 10+ years of hands-on experience programming Tecan and Beckman liquid handlers, with familiarity in robotic liquid handling systems and scheduling software;
- Proven track record in managing automated systems, including overseeing maintenance, training users, creating and maintaining documentation, and enhancing compliance;
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, combined with a proactive, solution-driven mindset and creative problem-solving abilities.
