As R&D Engineer, you are responsible for performing experimental work within ongoing and new R&D projects. This includes improving existing products and production processes, developing and validating analytical methods, and contributing to the development of new products. You process and analyse data, and report your findings clearly to the team.

You support the installation, qualification and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and contribute to the planning of experimental work and project activities — either independently or in collaboration with senior team members. In addition, you take care of operational R&D tasks such as stock management, preparing purchase orders for lab consumables and equipment, conducting incoming inspections, and maintaining organisation within the R&D lab and warehouse.

You also provide ad hoc support for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), deviations, and audit-related activities.

Profile

You hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering or a related field, and have relevant laboratory experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry (2–4 years with an M.Sc., or 4–6 years with a B.Sc.). You have hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as NMR, SEC, KF, FT-IR, GC and microscopy, including sample preparation and data interpretation. Experience in analytical method development and validation, polymer chemistry or multistep organic synthesis is a strong advantage.

Beyond your technical background, you bring:
  • A hands-on, bench-oriented mentality with a passion for continuous improvement;
  • The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance;
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
